Hi Guys from the UK
Hoping you guys can help me clear up my thoughts on this waste oil burner from Xo burners.
They run in a different way from the normal burners I have used before.
For example I have a Bairan 50kw burner its runs 6 psi and produce’s a stable good heat all the time regardless of oil quality.
Now this XO burner is supposed to be 60kw but produces less heat and is more prone to coking up the flame ring, now it runs a higher PSI, 8 to 12 psi, with less air cut outs around the flame ring.
So I think there theory of dong this is to have more primary air coming from the jet and less on the secondary from the squirrel fan.
The jet looks different form the normal type has a much bigger air passage around the oil part of the jet.
So I think with the higher pressure the oil jet is far longer and possible colder?
See 2 flame ring photos of the one with 6 fine slots compared to the 10 more open type you would normally see.
Any advice would be really appreciated before I convert to a normal set up…
