Hi, Just joined. Going to be putting together a WMO fueled hydronic system in a shop I am building this summer. I have picked up a Buderus G115 boiler used and plan to use a converted beckett burner either in siphon or metering pump style. Will be snooping around here for info and ideas.

I see that most places reccommend starting with a Beckett AFG. The boiler came with a Model "A" "AF" I am not sure what the difference between an A, AF, and AFG is?? I also have a "AFII 150" but have read that is not a good style of gun to use

I am not sure about that myself, but I did find this from another site:

If it has a AF burner it will probably be a little less efficient furnace. But the AF is necessary for the design of that particular heat exchanger. Most warm air furnaces that have an AF burner, have a refractory combustion chamber and require a slight negative draft in the chamber area. Not necessarily so with the AFG.
That does not mean either is inferior, just different.
