increased air pressure causing oil gauge fluctuation
« on: December 05, 2015, 03:44:12 am »
CB86AH when I increase air pressure for nozzle  it affects the oil pressure the pressure will fluctuate when I increase air pressure is this normal? The only thing I could think of is if the oring that is on the nozzle is bad it could cause air to try to override the oil pressure. The furnace is running and heating I  do see like dot or sparkles in the oil stream sometimes when it burns and just have a small amount of smoke from the vent stack. When I decrease oil pressure it will start to fluctuate on oil gauge if I decrease air pressure along with oil pressure it smooths out. I put a new pump on furnace this fall and have made sure all the connections are sealed on the oil suction side.

Also look at the nozzle holder o-ring. If it has not been replaced in a while it is probably shot. I change it every time I do a burner rebuild.
