Hello and how the forum came about.
« on: November 27, 2008, 10:48:18 am »
Just want to say hello and welcome everyone to the board.

In searching for a good place for information on how to build a waste oil heater, I found that there wasn't a single site just devoted to waste oil heating.  There are many other alternative energy forums and sites that people discussed the topic on, but the information seemed to be scattered all over the internet.  My goal with this board is to get all of that good information in one spot so it is easier for people to find.

If you have any suggestions for ways to improve the forum, please let me know in the suggestions fourm.

Thanks for stopping by!

Russ

Russ, I heat my small farm house with WVO and my 4 car garage with used motor oil. I modify a Beckett oil burner with a nozzel holder that has a 400 watt heater and can lower the viscosity so that a normal nozzel can attomize it. The pump and all safeties are still used. No compressed air is used. Matt.

That sounds like a nice system Matt.  Warm and toasty house and garage with cheap or free fuel.  I seen your nozzle holder and am interested in finding more out about it.  Thanks for joining and sharing your knowledge with others!

Welcome to the forum.  Sounds like you have some good experience.  What kind of systems do you build?  Do you modify burners?  Pressure or siphon systems?

Thanks for joining the forum!
