Hello
    im new and starting my first season with a waste oil burner which will be my backup for my hot water heating (wood boiler being my first source of heat) few questions of waste oils I see most use  motor oil has anyone had any luck with industrial type waste as in Way lube, hydraulic type oils i only ask cause I have access to about 6000 Gals of this stuff yearly if not im gonna experiment with my old oil burner modify as need in my machine shop

 Im going to browse though the archives get some better footing in this field

Hi Matthew,

From other reading I have done, hydraulic oil and transmission fluid seem to work fine.  I think I remember hearing that transmission fluid burns a little hotter.  I havent had experience with it myself, just from reading.  Maybe others have burned it themselves and can share what they know.
