Newbie with a question.
« on: November 29, 2010, 07:06:26 am »
Hello,
My son and I finished a Roger Sanders style burner over the weekend. It seems to work but I don't get a lot of heat from it yet. I was just wondering what tweaks seem to work to produce more heat. Equipment 40 gal heater tank 4 inch inlet 6 inch outlet 1/4 inch oil feed through a needle valve. My current burner is a small heavy stainless fry pan. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks

feed it more oil!! I have had the best burn reducing the 4 inch intake down to roughly two inches by sliding my flat crewd draft control over the opening also.
Used oil is beautiful

I never ran a sanders heater so take this for what its worth.  In gun systems waste oil like very little draft, all most positive pressure, less than 1/10th water inch and lots of swirl in the combustion air.
