Fuel Oil Furnaces / Beckett Oil Burner Mods
« on: January 03, 2012, 01:24:50 am »
Hey guys, i have finally got my beckett afg going , and while it puts out decent heat, I would like it to put out more. Is there a way to raise the output?? Larger nozzle, pump pressure or????......

My Fuel Line is 3/8" Copper and it is gravity fed to a Webster M34DJ Pump, Stock 75gph 70 hollow nozzle.

The unit is only rated for 85,000 btu but it is in a 3 bay garage, its not like its trying to heat a whole house. I figure it would heat it up quick but so far I believe my 60,000 btu kerosene torpedo heater works better.

Any help would be appreciated as im new oil burning furnaces, I can provide pics or whatever needed if it will help, Thanks WOHF

Waste Motor Oil / Beckett AFG Burner Install opinions (PICS)

Hey guys , im new to the forum. I joined because I am currently installing a Beckett Heater ("Inter-City Products" 85,000 Btuh) in my 3 bay shop and would like some tips or tricks...

I recently got this unit used and there is no manual or anything for it and this is all new to me. I so far hard wired a 110v 3 prong plug for it, so it can be plugged into the wall. I also have a 30-40 gallon container im about to put up today, as i was told this one works as a gravity feed. I am running 3/8 copper tubing with a lever-style on-off ball-valve .

I plan on burning used motor oil ,transmisson fluid and maybe cooking oil in it. As well as diesel or kerosene, which ever i have at the time.

I have read some need a Pre Heater for the oil so it thins out before it goes into the pump but not really sure i need this....

Here are some pics, still working on mounting the Fuel Container onto the wall and exhaust.

Thanks!!
