I fired up the boiler tonight. Anybody else heating with used oil, this season yet?
You can't put it on the internet if it isn't true!

Not yet, but I do have the clean out pulled apart to break loose the ash and get it all cleaned up.  I bought a dryer lint clean out brush last night that should work good to get in between the fingers inside the boiler.  After that I have to extend the water lines to the transmission cooler/heat exchanger I have in the garage so I can relocate that to a different spot.  I'll have to hook up the garden hose to top off the water supply after that, then I should be ready to fire!

I am working on rigging up my barrel with bushings so I can pressurize the barrels and empty them with compressed air like you do.  I haven't been able to find a 2" to 3/4" bushing locally, so I think I may have to order one.  Looks like Pex Supply has them.

I am coming up with some good ideas for a metering pump.  I will update that thread soon with my findings.

Happy burning Doug!
