Gravity feed parlor stove
« on: February 08, 2013, 11:33:37 pm »
This has to be the simplest form of a waste oil burner, been running it for two years and last year I ran it at 2 parts waste oil to 1 part diesel , this year I settled on 50 50 . I screwed with the carburetor a bit but I really think I didn't have to. They are a hassle to adjust.
The 2 parts to 1 part diesel was Ok but it was a hassle to light.  This works great .  The first picture is the stove , the second is from the back showing the tank and heat adjustment at the top , the bottom one is the carburetor. Simple and effective.  does anyone know if the residue in the burning chamber is toxic or bad or anything at all. It has to be cleaned once a year.

Thanks for sharing your burner.  Simple is good!

Not sure on the residue, but I usually treat it as toxic.  Keep the dust to a minimum and limit exposure.  Unfortunately cleaning is something all of us that burn waste oil have to deal with.  Even fuel oil alone can make a mess.  My boiler was terrible when I bought it.  Try to keep everything contained as good as you can.
