While re-reading this thread, I remembered the "portable space heater" on my back porch.
It's a fume spewin' kerosene burnin' jet engine.
Well, OK . . . it ain't no jet engine, it just looks like a small brown one.
It ain't from space, neither, but it is portable.
It's rated 30,000 BTU output and needs a thorough clean-out 'cause it won't burn waste oil, as is.
It is slated for "one of these days" modifying to burn WMO.
Back when kerosene could be had cheap, TMEN built a drip kerosene heater for an Ecovillage greenhouse.
I used to have the 1-page article. It's now SOMEWHERE on disc.
They made it from rain gutter downspout and hung it on a wall, intake down low, exhaust at the top.
It sputtered while burning, like early WWII German jets.
