I'm going to try this Thomas 2660 vacuum pump for my air source.  Matt (Mschindler300) is working on getting his burner attached compressor done, but in the mean time I wanted to get something quieter than my big compressor.  I was also having problems with my big compressor blowing the breaker.  Unfortunately everything is plugged into the same circuit, so hopefully this will prevent the breaker from blowing.  I have heard that these pumps (they work as a vacuum or compressor) will easily provide enough air for a burner.  I will report back how it works.

Hi Russ,
I was wondering if we could get a picture showing how you got the 2660 vacuum pump set up and any comments you have about it?  Was wondering if I should use a little tank with it or does it pump air straight to the nozzle and what's the max rating on the regulator you use?
Thanks!

Ok.  I'm going to get a steel drum and weld a 3/8 nipple on it and attach a shutoff and line.

It's been so long that I don't remember what I used.  I think I used something like 3/8.

What is a good size line to use between my steel drum oil storage tank and the ammo box?  Can I go with 1/4 inch, or is a different size better?  Thanks

I have wondered about the purpose of that pipe myself.
I cannot figure out what it is suppose to do.

Hello,
I am rebuilding an old 1989 Blackgold heater which has a newer Energylogic burner and pump that the previous owner installed.  I want to replace the original insulation in the cabinet that is on the burner end of the unit inside the cabinet.  It is a thin insulation with foil that faces the burn chamber.  The insulation against the inside of the burn chamber wall is very close to the burn chamber and is exposed to high heat. Do you guys have a recommendation on a good replacement insulation?
Thanks,
Jonny

Well I love the idea of a web form like this. You can go to YouTube & watch all the videos which is great. But forms
Are better as you can discuss idea’s one on one & learn from one another. Problem I see here is you can,t just pull
It up by Google. At least I could not. People can,t find it.

     Just my thoughts!   Fly

Thank you Russ looks like some great folks here. I truly wish this site was easy to find on the net, for it would
get many more hits than it does. Youtube has a huge following, on this subject. But hopefully  more people will
find it. There are many on you tube that build three or four different heaters before finding just what works for
them. I just don,t want to go threw all that if I can avoid that.

Thank you my freind!      Fly
