User Projects & Pictures / oil burners --- oil control valves
« on: January 22, 2017, 03:44:47 pm »
My continuing follow-up and posts of restoring an oil burner. I have read many people trying to figure out the "carburetors". Oil stoves don't have carburetors, they have oil control valves. Yes they do use floats, but are gravity fed. Many of the oil control valves made in the 1940's and 50's are no longer available, however adaptable brand new replacements are available. My project pic is labeled oil "control".

Fuel Pre-Heaters / fuel pre-heaters

I'm wondering way no one has just used a magnetic oil pre-heater on there oil tank, like is available for a truck or car? Or how 'bout this; a finned cooler of any type. Any piece of junk from anything that doesn't leak. (A refrigerator, old power steering pump, old car heater, ect). Place in a metal tank. Fill tank with some anti-freeze solution. Connect your oil line to the cooler. Heat the tank of liquid with a magnetic heater. The heat will transfer to the oil running thru your "cooler". Wala heated oil to your burner.  ;) your welcome

User Projects & Pictures / Repair and restore Siegler oil burner
« on: January 22, 2017, 12:16:13 pm »
This is my attempt to document my repair and (sort of) restoration of a 1940's "vaporizing burner oil stove". I know nothing about this type of stove. I picked it for my garage/shop heat it because it was cheep and uses no electricity. Also, they where ALREADY designed by someone and where used for many years. My intent is to eventually burn waste oil.  ;D 8)

Hello all. I live in Wa. state. Just purchased a Siegler oil burning stove. Hoping to get pictures and information as to what is "supposed" to be inside the burner.
