Waste Motor Oil / Lighting Oil

Hello,
I have modified a Becket AFG to run on waste oil.
Here is what I have done:
* Changed nozzle from the rated .85 to .55 same pattern & angel (70* Solid)
* Added PID, thermocouple, and cartridge heater clampled around J-tube inside barrel
* Filter oil through a 10 Micron hydraulic oil filter and throught a RF-1 filter
* Turned pump pressure up to 135psi
* Operate PID at about 350*F
What I have found:
The unit lights and runs fine but I plug nozzles like crazy. I understand that I should run the temperature around 170*F. This is fine, however I cannot get the unit to light at 170*F.
Is there a differnt adjustment other than factory for the electrodes or another trick?
Any help is appreciated.
