Nice work.....I have a few questions... the mothers setup uses a top plate and middle plate on the burner...any reason why yours does not?   and again...why use cast iron skillet?  just more durable?   and...just so i am sure I understand....your fresh air intake is the one ducted to the outside while the exhaust from combustion is vented to the shop?  Oh...and How do you start it?

Waste Motor Oil / ? on mothers burner

what is the purpose of using a cast iron skillet for the top part of the burner?   can it be just steel (like a brake drum)?  from what i read, it looks like you drill holes in it, and the middle plate....should these holes be offset from each other?

Hey...I live in Texas...so heat is not really an issue...but I race cars...changing oil every few races (11Quarts each time)   so I have an abundance of used oil...and sometimes it gets down to 60 degrees so...figured I could kill two birds with one stone...but...I cant seem to get a clear idea on how to build one...so..can someone tell me where to look?   I was hoping a to find a simple drip feed type heater to build...
