Waste Motor Oil / Gravity feed parlor stove
« on: February 08, 2013, 11:33:37 pm »
This has to be the simplest form of a waste oil burner, been running it for two years and last year I ran it at 2 parts waste oil to 1 part diesel , this year I settled on 50 50 . I screwed with the carburetor a bit but I really think I didn't have to. They are a hassle to adjust.
The 2 parts to 1 part diesel was Ok but it was a hassle to light.  This works great .  The first picture is the stove , the second is from the back showing the tank and heat adjustment at the top , the bottom one is the carburetor. Simple and effective.  does anyone know if the residue in the burning chamber is toxic or bad or anything at all. It has to be cleaned once a year.

This product cost a dollar and it's put in the tank to take water out of diesel /gas for vehicles , my question  is can I put it in waste oil/diesel tank to stop it from freezing . I really don't see why not. My system is a gravity feed system parlour stove running half diesel half waste oil It works good. simple.

Waste Motor Oil / Hello everyone I'm new and have a question
« on: February 16, 2012, 12:54:58 am »
I have a gravity feed parlor stove, with a tank built right on the back, I'm burning half fuel oil and half waste oil, It Goes from the tank through a carburetor, which meters the oil and into a burner bowl, whose inner chamber has very small holes in it,   . the colder it gets the harder it is to start but I've always got it going. It puts out a good amount of heat . One problem I'm having is first, what do I want to do with the damper, I'm setting it so it just opens slightly when it is going full on and secondly, It will only work properly if the tank in back  is half way empty, more then that and it only candles a flame on high, I have adjusted the float on the carburetor and have it working when it's half empty but why does it not work properly until it is half empty.  Do I change the float level up or down or is it something else. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
