Hello
« on: June 18, 2016, 05:08:00 am »
Hello, newbie here, glad to have found the site and thank you in advance. I have a small repair shop, 50 X 80 next to home, I have looked at building a WOB, yet have decided to purchase one, time being one large constraint. I have concluded the finalists, being a Clean Burn unit, or an Energylogic unit, the pricing is quite equtiable between the two. However, the Engergylogic has a better warranty by far and comes with a discount for the tank, (recycling center) and the stainless flue kit which the Clean Burn does not offer. Just looking for insights as to past experiances and so forth. One of the shops I worked at, was foreman at, had a Lanair, I could in no way purchase one of their units, though that was 10+ years ago. Thank you and look forward to being able to help and also gain insights. Take care.

And, by the way, not that it matters,  I live in Alaska, so, not an issue now, yet it will be in a few months. Take care!

Welcome to the forum.  Sorry I can't help - I'm having problems getting my oil burner to work properly and only gets down to 0 deg C (32 Deg F here)  At the moment it's down to about 12 deg C and it's mid-winter.  I couldn't imagine Alaska in winter!  :D

Hello p38 and thank you for the reply. Actually, where we live in Alaska, 60 miles north of Anchorage the winters are quite mild, average temps -10 to +10 Deg F. Last winter we only had one and one half weeks of -20 to -25 Deg F, been quite mild from what I grew up with. What type burner are you dealing with that you are having issues with? I have decided this weekend to order the EnergyLogic model 200 unit, hope its a good decision, guess I will know in a few years. Take care.

The Clean Burn is a far superior unit. The EL is just an open barrel firebox where as the CB has an actual heat exchanger with much greater surface area. When means you will have more heat per gallon with the CB warming you instead of the outside through the stack. Burner designs are night/day different. The CB burner was built from the ground up for waste oil where as the EL is a butchered up Beckett housing with the preheat block hanging out in the breeze far away from the nozzle. CB has 2 stainless steel washable filters instead of 1 expensive spin on filter for the EL.

EL warranty is better ?
We have tanks made locally to our specs for less than mfg tanks.
CB has Summer promotions running right now with options like, free stovepipe, free on-board air, financing options, cash discount.

I have been doing nothing but waste oil heaters sales AND service for 25 years and know every brand inside and out.

Mr. Specialties, thank you for the reply, I am still learning my way around this site, I have yet to see where or how to send a P/M or I would. I would very much appreciate discussing this further with you looking at your experiance you have noted. I am attempting to pursue my due dilligence in my pursuing ownership. I can only go off of the research I have done, what the vendors I have been dealing with share and written words I can read, also, talking with current owners of both products. The C/B dealer had no incentives to offer so I'm told, IE tanks, flue kits, off season pricing and associated, plus, what I have been given in regard to warranty and associated is by far different. The E/L folks explained their burner setup, where the C/B folks have not, again only whats been found in print, on web sites. So, that being stated, if we can figure a way to get together somewhat more privately, I don't mind sharing, yet not all of my world, I will look forward to doing that. Also, if you are a dealer, perhaps it can go further than just discussion? I am a very open minded person, just looking, as all of us do, to make the wisest, best investment. Thank you wrenchman1960
