heaters are both working just replaced the 50 watt one and have checked the other one the preheat block is around 140 if I check with a temp gun.I am thinking about removing the heater block and cleaning it off the gun with an ultra sonic cleaner I am not sure how big a job it is.

Commercial Waste Oil Heaters / swing away conversion
« on: December 24, 2016, 05:21:50 am »
I have an older clean burn and am looking to convert it so have the swing away option for the burner so I do not have to remove the gun to clean nozzle. does any one here know of a place that makes this? I saw a few years ago some offered it on Ebay but have not seen it lately

I am running 3 pounds on the oil and 12 pounds on the air if I increase oil pressure it over fires.

CB86AH when I increase air pressure for nozzle  it affects the oil pressure the pressure will fluctuate when I increase air pressure is this normal? The only thing I could think of is if the oring that is on the nozzle is bad it could cause air to try to override the oil pressure. The furnace is running and heating I  do see like dot or sparkles in the oil stream sometimes when it burns and just have a small amount of smoke from the vent stack. When I decrease oil pressure it will start to fluctuate on oil gauge if I decrease air pressure along with oil pressure it smooths out. I put a new pump on furnace this fall and have made sure all the connections are sealed on the oil suction side.

When I clean the ash I remove the burner as well as the access panel on the back so I can clean the ash out of the tubes and use my shop vac to remove  the ashes out. It is just a pain to have to remove the gun to replace or clean the nozzle I dont mind unhooking the oil line or air line but carrying it down the 12 foot step ladder is a pain. I just need the hinge to make it a swing away someone had them on Ebay last year but cant locate them this year.

Does any one make a conversion kit that allows the older clean burn furnaces to have the swing away option? My furnace is mounted on the ceiling and is a pain to service I have to remove the gun and carry it down a step ladder to service it.

Air is supplied by 8HP compressor with 80 gallon tank. I have kind of had a stretch of having it run better I resealed all the connections on the suction side of the pump and it has been doing better. I think my pump may be on its way out and I am going to replace it soon.

Waste Motor Oil / HELP CB-86AH oil pressure surges
« on: December 03, 2014, 04:48:46 am »
I have a older clean burn CB-86AH I am having issues with the oil pressure surging up and down it will fluctuate up and down about 1 and 1/2 pounds and the flame does the same it keeps going out due to eye not seeing fire eventually I have tried raising oil pressure and then it will over fire when it increase if I drop the pressure it will go out then reignite. I have purged the heater block, cleaned the oil filters on the suction side of pump, took pump apart and cleaned screen inside pump, tried a different batch of oil and it will run good for awhile then start surging again. Do any of you techs have any suggestions as what to check next?
I am running oil pressure at around 3 pounds and air at around 12 pounds according to my gauges. It does not sound like it is firing right either when it fires right it kind of makes a whistle noise and I have not heard that for a while. Could I have 1 of the 2 cal rod heaters bad?

I attempted to do a search on clean burn site by using my zip code 13452 and it will only pull a dealer from Ontario Canada. I do un hook the wires from the terminal strip and I do shut off power as soon as I can in the spring time.
I have attempted to look on the web using my model number and I cant seem to find much I know it is an older model but it does a fine job of keeping me warm. I have thought about getting a newer model but it is hard to spring for a new unit if the old one is working and I can keep repairing it. The older model is a little harder to service due to the fact that you have to remove the gun from the burn chamber the newer ones the gun swings away on a hinge to service it. Mine is suspended from the ceiling and I have to service it from a 12 foot step ladder kind of a pain, I am thinking about moving it to make it better to service.
