Just wondering Has anyone try using Hot water from there Boiler with a heat Exchanger (Tube and Shell Style) To Preheat there Waste Oil??? Im thinking of Trying it as I have about a 8 Ft run from Tank to Furnace and Believe I could get it to 160- 180 with a Tube Shell Heat Exchanger then you a Back up Element for Cold Starts     

Feed back or Ideas Welcome this boiler is Also used for DHW so it runs year around

OK heres another pic of the current Status

Got the manifold mounted still have some unistrut to mount (thank you Maint at work for being SO!!! Waste!! FUL!!!) so i snag the unistrut out of our scrap bin.... there loss my gain.  I started routing the pex trying to make it neat and organize found Plastic Conduit to work well for guiding it to where I want it

I have more PIcs tonight after this is all done Nice coat of paint will be next Waste oil parts will be here tommarow so friday i will start on the burner conversion

Im currently upgrading my Boiler hardware so I post pics and info as I go

I dont like how it Looks and was a testing Setup, Now it works and the wife and kids love it so .... On to the upgrades

starting with my Rifeng 8 Zone Manifold

And Thermal Actuators  Im planning for a fully Automated system with Individual Room zoning and Temp Control


I will have After Pics Posted Soon then its onto the good stuff which should be here Fri The Burner Conversion to Waste oil Tap so far $540.00 Bucks (fittings get pricey)

Waste Motor Oil / industrial oils

Hello
    im new and starting my first season with a waste oil burner which will be my backup for my hot water heating (wood boiler being my first source of heat) few questions of waste oils I see most use  motor oil has anyone had any luck with industrial type waste as in Way lube, hydraulic type oils i only ask cause I have access to about 6000 Gals of this stuff yearly if not im gonna experiment with my old oil burner modify as need in my machine shop

 Im going to browse though the archives get some better footing in this field
