Waste Motor Oil / Re: Cleaned the furnace today
« on: December 10, 2010, 05:32:04 pm »
Hey Russ- did u have build up on the back of the chamber like last time?? How many gallons of oil did it take to get your build up?

When i was playing with my burner last winter, i was getting build up on the back. It would grow out about 2-3 inches. it took about 15gallons to get it there. I bought an eco-nozzle and put it on my new tip and absolutley no build up. I have run about 75 gallons through it and i havn't had to clean it at all. It seems to start a tad better too. I have general ash and soot in the whole chamber, but no growth off the wall towards the nozzle. oil temp is 225, pressure is 130, .75 80degree tip. I also am trying a 90degree tip now and i'm having better starting with it, and seems like its lasting longer!

I'm not sure what the heck happened???? It burned off the wire going directly into the cartridge heater. It almost looks like it just shorted out against the stainless outer sleeve.  I might  not of seen how close it was when i originally installed it.

I ordered a new one with better insulation around the wire. Ill see how long this one lasts. I figured i wouldnt have any trouble for a couple years! I only run about 55 gallons through the furnace.

Have u started your furnace yet??

Patriot supply offers alot of parts and they are reasonable on prices. Parts searching is frustrating, but if u have part numbers its easy!

Hello everyone!

Just got a cold snap of weather and started my oil burner a few weeks ago! I like the feeling of free heat!!!
I have had OK luck with it, just trying to find a good combo of tips, and burner heads, and air flow etc.

I have done alot of looking around on the WWW. and it is hard to find a good site! This site is off to a great start!!!! I hope to add some info and help people open there minds up!!!!

burn baby burn
