Waste Motor Oil / guidence please

I like the idea/simplicity of the roger sanders set up, but with only an area of 10 x 16 feet in my w/shop would one of those be to much (better insulation in hand), or would it be easy to scale down into a smaller package say a lpg/calour/propane type gas bottle like people make wood burners out of?
I am new to this, but at 47 and worked on the tools most of my working life I have a modderate to fair skill level, a brother who welds and a knowledge of where to get bits and bobs from and how they can work together, what I don't have is a lot of money. any idea's suggestions most appreciated.

hi all, just stumbled across the site after googleing waste oil heaters. looks like my kind of place. I will be asking lots of questions, stealing lots of ideas (why re-invent the wheel), and generally using the info on here to build my first oil burner heater.  ;D
I like the look of the roger sandersdesign but also see there are a few mods/tweeks been developed on here so I'll just have to mix and match a bit of everything see what happens  8)
off to read some more now, catch yer later.
